Distribution of Food Baskets
Tachlit distributes on a weekly basis about - 1800 food baskets to needy families across the country, Each basket is made of 12 pounds of basic fruits and vegetables, as well as dried essential and pastries, Our organization can only operate with the help of 400 volunteers weekly. Our volunteers are diverse: youth, soldiers, students, religious, non religious, professionals, groups, schools and others who come to our warehouse facilities and pack approximately 18,000 food baskets weekly. These food baskets are transported by a fleet of trucks and vehicles to distribution points throughout the country reaching the poor who reach out to us for help.

Adopt a Family
Under this program donors adopt a needy family, and give support to the family directly. Donors feel great knowing that their donations are being used and see first hand the difference they are making in a family's life.
How does the project work? For example, if there is a family of several small children, and a parent is terminally ill and her husband cannot function because of a disability. Eventally the woman died and the father was helpless to do anything. We found a donor that was ready to help. The donor's family went to their home, bought for the children clothing, footwear, candy, groceries, and all that is needed. To this day the donors help these orphans and they have established a deep connection. They continue to care for these orphans by paying for classes for children, tutors, and providing financial assistance in the thousands of shekels

Dining with Love
Tachlit turned to hundreds of restaurants across the country and we asked them to host large families, or one-parent families, for a period of a day or a week, depending on the agreement with the restaurant owner. This is how it works: The family receives a referral and takes it to the restaurant. He sits down with his family and enjoys a beautiful dinner with dignity. A real treat for everyone. About 250 businesses have jumped on the idea. A family eats, and a restaurant owner feels good knowing he did good. This project has now been active for several years. Hundreds of families have been helped and tens of thousands of portions have been served.
